The new calculus for comedy

[float=right][/float]Bostonist Tom Lewis works out the new calculus for comedian Jim Gaffigan’s sold out stand up show this weekend at the Berklee Performance Center:

As proof he offers this argument: Perhaps you've seen one of Gaffigan's many and varied comedic efforts;
- Comedy Central Specials
- DVD of "Beyond the Pale"
- myriad of late night TV appearances, particularly on "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" where he's teamed up to form the animated superhero duo "Pale Force"
- TV gig "My Boys" on TBS
"but none of those media can equal seeing him perform in person."
I see. Gaffigan is funny but never so funny as in person.
