Candidate who wasn't fake-endorsed by Deval Patrick running for obscure office again
Kevin McCrea alerts us that Adam Chandler sorta lookalike Robert Jubinville of Milton is running again for the Governor's Council seat held by Kelly Timilty.
The job, which you almost never hear about except during the bi-annual elections, involves signing authorizations to pay state-government bills and voting on pardon requests from the governor. Oh, yeah, also, if the state auditor or lieutenant governor resigns while the legislature is not in session, the council gets to pick a replacement. In other words, it's the sort of office that stopped being relevant roughly around the time we threw off the shackles of British tyranny and chased the royal governor back to ye olde England. The state has eight councilors.
The Timilty/Jubinville match up two years ago was notable solely for the last minute Timilty mailer that featured Deval Patrick's forged signature on a bogus endorsement. After her re-election, Timilty apologized, Patrick accepted and everybody had a good laugh (OK, and then Timilty paid an $8,000 fine).
