Not shocked to hear Matt O'Malley is in the race. He's run before. Nice Kid. What about other candidates? I would suspect TD Doherty would have huge support if he entered the race. He has done alot of community work and always seems to be able to get things done. What about Kelly Tynan? Would she get out of Reps race which will be hard for her to win.

TD is untrustworthy as are many of these candidates. We need someone who is not a politician, not an insider.

I was called about this blog. This is the first blog I've ever answered I appreciate people asking me to run to fill John's seat.I have had over 40 calls today asking me to consider running. It would be an honor, but I'm not a candidate. As for Mr Anon( Rhode Scholar), "untrustworthy" are.your kidding me. You got a problem you can call me @ 617 835 5091. Anyone who puts a post as anon is an outright coward. I'm at Dunkin Donuts almost everydayfrom 6:30 to 7:45am. I don't have to be nicey nice. Put your name down and let's see what you've done for the community.I'd be glad to match resumes. Your probably an unemployed shithead. How can you blog at 3:00pm. Get a job. I could probably help you get one since I'm an insider.
Best of luck to all candidates.

TD

TD's comment is one of the best comments I've ever seen on a blog. Tellin' it like it is.

You just proved yourself to be as unintelligent and boorish as the anon who goaded you into acting like an "internet tough guy".

Your post has the grammar and spelling I usually come to expect from the 14-year-old street thugs who commemorate their dead friends in the comments on their news stories here.

It's probably a good thing you've chosen not to run for city council, since I'd hope that communicating in better English than what you've demonstrated here would be a prerequisite.

Also, if you can't figure out how someone might have both a job AND the ability to comment here at 3:00 P.M. on a weekday, then problem solving may not be your strongest suite either.

Have you ever heard the mayor of this city talk?

And what if you can blog on overtime? What kind of man does that make you?

I wouldn't want this person representing my beer-league softball team, never mind my neighborhood. Mr. Doherty's intelligence and community service aren't the issue here, but his hairtrigger temper, oafishness and questionable approach to problem solving certainly are

As for Mr Anon( Rhode Scholar) Not knowing what a Rhodes Scholar is reflects poorly, but likely isn't something constituents will complain about.

"untrustworthy" are.your kidding me. Kaz should really back up this claim, but he has the right to make it.

You got a problem you can call me @ 617 835 5091 Before we get 30 anons calling "TD" and speculating about his mother's sexual prowess or aesthetic merit, they should consult this reference guide first.

Anyone who puts a post as anon is an outright coward. Or just about anyone on this board who isn't adam or John A Keith.

I'm at Dunkin Donuts almost everydayfrom 6:30 to 7:45am. Care to narrow this down, tough guy? Adam's map of Boston Dunkin Donuts locations looks like someone spilled an orange slush on it. People who want to pay a call during your social hour ("How can you blog at 3:00pm?" How can you be in a Dunkin' Donuts for more than an hour every morning?) may go through about 12 DD locations before finding you.

I don't have to be nicey nice. Can we expect more Andrew Dice Clay-inspired oratory if TD actually runs for public office. Will Opie and Anthony maintain their positions among his braintrust?

Put your name down and let's see what you've done for the community. Do you know this area? About everyone has a public service rap sheet a mile long. Kaz could trip in this neck of town and be caught by a member of a civic association, social justice group or non-profit. As Sam Yoon discovered, you can spend your entire life contributing to the community... it won't make you trustworthy in the eyes of the electorate.

Your probably an unemployed shithead. Just because being a shithead is your full-time job doesn't mean you should pick on unemployed shitheads. Sorry, couldn't resist.

I could probably help you get one since I'm an insider. That's what he's implying, and offering to kick him back some work in exchange for something you want isn't exactly proving him wrong.

The posting trashing Mr. Doherty was wrong, but he was wrong to call those who have lost their jobs #$%#heads. My cousin and many of my best friends that I recently graduated from college with have been laid off through no fault of their own for months! Worse, the non-profit I work at just annouced they will have to start laying off people too so I am sensitive to this. I went to a top school, paid for it by myself and now because of greedy wall street people, me and my friends are getting laid off. Is that right? Like many who are in this same predicament, I worked hard and played by the rules, am I @#$%head? Are they? What do you do for work Mr. Doherty and have any of your friends been laid off? The fact that I need to point this out to you says to me that you are not in touch with the times and as a voter living in JP, I would seriously have to question voting for a man like you. Thank you.

I didn't write the first anon post calling him "untrustworthy" or anything else. I only wrote the followup. I've had this account on UHub for quite a while and I do not post comments while unlogged.

Bernstein analyzes Tobin's time on the council; says his chief of staff could run (along with one or more of the folks now running for Mike Rush's seat).

Don't you think it's a bit early to start slinging mud, Adam?

Why, yes, I believe he's a serial politician (dunno if he's also a cereal politician, though - I've only ever seen him outside Roche Bros., so don't know if he has a thing for Count Chocula).

Not to infer anything positive or negative, but most of our elected officials would be considered "serial politicians" under that definition. Rush, Tobin, Capuano, Murphy, Connolly (just to name a few) all lost at least once, most twice, before finally winning a seat.

Are you implying that being a "serial politician" is synonomous with Howie Carr's infamous "hack?"

Leading to an even worse pun, so relax, I'm not attempting to impugn Matt in any way here - unless I find out he really does like Count Chocula, in which case, blecch, how could he?

What great local leaders you have rising up from the ashes like a phoenix to replace the those moving on to "greener" pastures. The Dunkin Donuts gathering spot reminds me of the olden days of Socrates and Aristotle with all of the wisemen (and sophist foils) who congregate there each morning. I think that I will take the kind local leader up on his invitation to meet at D & D one morning.
