The Globe had a wedding present for Michael Graham

WTKK frothmeister Michael Graham got remarried this past weekend. The Globe, which Graham regularly spits at on air, thought that would be a good time to print a column by his ex-wife about her troubles moving on.

Purely coincidental, no doubt: Jennifer Graham herself writes she submitted the piece in August and thought it would run in December.

About twenty years, a local politician where I was a kid, no friend of the local newspaper, got married and later in the week got arrested for real estate fraud.

For some reason, the wedding announcement ran early next to the front page article about his stealing. Can't imagine how THAT happened.

which is why you occasionally see a same-day correction or editor's note on page 2 of the Sunday paper.

Since I almost never listen to radio, let alone talk radio, I've managed never to hear about this Michael Graham fellow, but, boy does he sound like a winner. Not.

Jennifer, my sympathies are with you. But your politics must be pretty wacko if you really want this guy back.

I read that column in yesterday's Globe mag and immediately passed to my wife saying something along the lines of "Ohmigod, this bint is crazy." She seems to have no idea how bad she comes off in it.

And reading her blog post just now, she still seems clueless. Hint to Jennifer Graham: when people use terms like "trophy wife," they're making fun of both the wife and the midlife-crisis-having loser who married her.

Somebody beating him up on the radio for this for about three straight hours, while morons lifted their knuckles from the floor for just long enough to call in and join in the "discussion".

Stockholm syndrome. Michael Graham has to be one of the biggest idiots I've ever heard in my life. His program topics come from the latest right wing playbook, peppered with the occasional "local" issue, like his arrest by the Framingham Police for an expired license. He milked that one for months! Now he has hitched his "star" to the Tea Party, and any time a caller tries to bring up the racist elements of the esteemed group, he cuts them off and hangs up.

He's just another in a group of small minded people who have failed at everything else, so they turn to talk radio to boost their own egos and spread more right wing lies to the fools who eat it up as gospel. Mrs. Graham's little screed seems to be missing one question that most people would ask; if your idiot husband is getting married just six months after your separation, how long do you really think he has had a relationship with the soon to be new Mrs. Graham?

I remember Graham hanging up on me when I interrupted his on-air screed against gay marriage a few years ago. I had asked him to quote me the part of the Gospels where Christ condemns homosexuality, just for shits and giggles. Since he's had some time to research the matter, I imagine he might have stumbled upon Mark 10:11 by now, the hypocritical jerk.

Talk radio is poisonous filth designed to spread discord and disunion among us- keep us divided and fearful and tribal and incapable of any sort of collective united stand against power. Mostly right wingers- but liberals are as guilty as well.

My advice to people who listen to talk radio routinely- try turning it off for a month. I'll bet you will feel better about yourself and humanity in general. I listened to that crud for YEARS. Made me an angry bitter a-hole who spouted nonsense.

I'm kicking it up a notch this week. Having Comcast come and get the cable box. Gonna try a year without the tube- see how I like it and want to see what I do with the time saved.

Didn't realize how good I had it until I was stuck in the hospital the week before the elections. Can honestly say I'm better off being in campaign ad/24-hour-news detox.

I have a home theater PC hooked up to my TV and a Netflix subscription. I can't believe how little I miss cable. There were maybe 2-3 shows I watched that I can't watch now, and frankly I don't miss them at all.

We realy do need to get a rooftop antenna. Conley Elementary School looms between us and most transmitting towers. We sort of get reception on our third floor, but as to the first floor -- pretty dodgy.

Anyone know of reliable antenna installers?
