Paging Mr. Emerson and Heirs
Now would be a good time for folks to resurrect (or at least draw on the reserves of) that Yankee stoicism that I admired so much when I moved here as an older child. The vast majority of the local body politic seems to have succumbed to the idiot-talk-radio and the-shocking-story-at-11! mentality that previously infected mostly the other parts of the country. I pray everyday that one of these imbeciles from 7News or their dopey friends from another station will come rushing up to me asking, in a desperate tone and with a live feed, "Sir, what are you doing about the crisis!?!" The result would be a youtube phenomenon within minutes.
If one of you finds yourself in that situation, please do what should be done and let me live the dream vicariously through you. Thanks.
Strange grouping MSM with talk radio
You talk about the 'shocking store at 11 mentality', and group that with 'idiot-talk-radio' listeners. Are you that brainwashed that no matter how disaffected you are with the MSM (main stream media), you automatically attack the response to the MSM? You cannot see that while you may not like any of their politics, that issues are discussed and explored thousands of times more deeply than they are on TV?
Given that there is a lot of conservative talk (with Air America's demise), you must be attacking the group that in general agrees with you about decorum and panic, and the state of society today, and the state of the press that covers it.
Which is worse, the people who cannot think and are panicking about their situations (or the people who cover this), or the yankee wanna-be looking out from his estate with disdain for the masses that live near by: Contempt offered instead of help or politics offered instead of a rational argument or observation about the situation?
