Rating the Democratic candidates for auditor, except Glodis, who doesn't believe in honoring commitments
By adamg on Thu, 09/09/2010 - 1:30pm
Mike Ball reports on a forum yesterday involving state auditor candidates Suzanne Bump and Mike Lake, sponsored by the Young Democrats of Massachusetts. Glodis had originally said he'd appear, then backed out at the last minute claiming trouble at the Worcester County jail he runs, only there wasn't any trouble, just a chance to appear at a union rally he felt would get him more bang for his buck, Ball writes.

So now we know who one person
So now we know who one person favors. Written like a true PR hack.
We do?
I'm not sure if you're referring to me or Mike Ball, but if the latter, his account seemed pretty even handed to me. If me, yeah, I don't think much of Glodis, in part because of stunts like the one he pulled yesterday, but if you know who I'm going to vote for for auditor, please let me know, because I didn't realize I'd made a decision on the other two candidates.
To-morrow creeps in this petty pace
Check my site tomorrow for primary endorsements. Meanwhile, you can read the post on the 2/3 forum. Note that I've been all over the treasurer and secretary races, pretty much ignoring the auditor. Even at Left Ahead, we haven't had any of the auditor candidates on for podcasts. We had all three treasurer would-bes.
The Young Dems sucked me into the forum cold. I had only done my usual research of the campaign websites, Facebook pages and review of the newspaper articles. My post was raw and I came in undecided.
Moreover, Lake bills himself as the progressive, which strikes a chord with me. Glodis tries to play Old West town marshal online and in his quoted appearances. Bump is pleasant in person, but exhibits sangfroid.
Tomorrow.
Mike
Friday add: For anyone not breathing until I endorse, head here and respire.
Typical
Everything I've heard about Glodis suggests he's a total fucking sleazebag.
same old, same old
I'm utterly uninformed on him, aside from the coverage in the Globe about him getting a loan from some hedge fund scumbag.
I know you shouldn't rely on guilt by association, but you are measured by the friends you keep and the sleazy political operatives (usually state and/or municipal govt employees) who hang up your election signs around town. Big Guy Glodis has the same sign crew as Menino and Grossman, so any "breath of fresh air" talk or outsider nomenclature should be disregarded.
Payne in the Glodis
Dan Payne goes to town on Big Guy in today's Glob.
This might just give Suzanne the Bump she needs.... chirp ..chirp...
(and the crickets roar their approval...)
