Hubway Helmets Held Hostage?

I've been a member of The Hubway for 2 weeks. All those bikes await me at South Station but I'm conscientiously waiting for my helmet (which I foolishly purchased on-line). The customer service line there is infuriating. Today I was told by a woman that she'd have to get back to me to tell me when someone would get back to me, and that, no, she couldn't give out the email address of the person responsible for helmets. An email request to support went unanswered. Anybody else having this problem?

Protip: You can bike without a helmet, and not die!

It's sort of like taking a shower without a helmet. Sure, hundreds of people die every year in their bath tub, because they werent wearing a helmet...but you risk it every single day.

Wearing a helmet is not the end-all-be-all of bike safety. See this post: http://bicyclesafe.com/helmets.html

Focusing on helmets distracts people from what's more likely to actually save their lives: Learning how to ride safely. It's not that I'm against helmets, I'm against all the attention placed on helmets at the expense of safe riding skills. Helmets are not the most important aspect of bike safety. Not by a long shot.
