Bear ambles into Needham

Philip Borenstein reports the town just robo-called residents to alert them a bear (which found Dedham too boring?) was spotted this morning in the area of Second and Highland avenues by the Charles River - and the Panera Bread.

Text of Needham reverse-911 call.

But, hmm, if it can get from Dedham to Needham like that, how long before it winds up in West Roxbury?

Make sure the bear knows this. Or, maybe, the bear does know this ... just misunderstands that it is a hockey season, not a hunting season.

Looks like West Roxbury is safe, but he's making his way north towards Waltham. I predict he'll show up on Bear Hill Rd and settle into Totten Pond
