Family of woman who fell down elevator shaft at Fenway Park sues Sox

WBZ reports on the suit, filed in Suffolk Superior Court, which charges the elevator door was already loose when Elisabeth Scott brushed against it, lost her balance and fell two stories onto the top of an elevator, suffering major brain injuries.
In an August hearing, city officials said they did not know why the door opened.

Yes, it does. So what's the point of your post? Is it a knee-jerk reaction to just disparage every lawsuit because "that's what people do"?
I have been in freight
I have been in freight elevators that the door has fallen off before , not people elevators though. I was trapped for 3/4 hour. The establishment , which I won't mention the address, got a maintenance guy with a hammer and pry bar to free me . I had to crawl out , it was between floors. I made them sign the way bill for the freight before I would crawl out , otherwise I would have needed some oxygen , and the Boston Fire to get me out properly. Dispatch asked me why I didn't call in the delay, this was before cell phones . I told the dude my shoe phone was at the cobbler getting fixed , wasn't wearing it.
