If you're looking for a new sport to play, and love riding bikes, come check out Boston Bike Polo! We host a newbie night every Wednesday at the roller hockey rink in Smith Playground in Allston!
Bike polo is basically 3v3 hockey on Bikes. Anyone who has played a stick sport (lacrosse, hockey) and rides a bike will pick it up really quick. If you haven't played a stick sport before, it's still super fun!
So, how many kids are going to die today playing chicken, or texting while driving, or drunk driving, or all the million of other ways people kill themselves doing stupid things with cars.
If you're trying to make the point that some bicycle riders do stupid things I'll counter that point with about several order of magnitudes worth of documented examples of people doing stupid things cars.
You'll also notice that the person in the linked story didn't hurt anyone else. Wish that could be said for the majority of auto accidents in which an injury is reported.
Bike week isn't hipsters anyway. In fact, it predates hipster conception - I worked the registration table decades ago. Lots and lots of commuters helping others who want to give it a spin but like to try it in numbers first. But hey, reality isn't nearly as fun as worn out stereotypes based on zero evidence, right?
Bike Week also lacks a religious blessing ceremony.
I still have a water bottle from a similar event that happened along the Northern Strand path in Malden last June, sponsored by that city's First Lutheran Church.
Harley riders - like the ones who immediately pull off onto the shoulder of I-93 as soon as they cross the NH line so they can increase their chances of serious or fatal injury by removing their helmets.
I'm excited to get a free bike tuneup! I usually do basic bike maintenance on my own, but it'll be great to have somebody who knows what they're doing take a look at my bike.

Bicycle stair riding a stupid sport, however
NH cop dies from brain injury:

relevance?
Point?
Like polo, stair riding is another activity on bike
much like what skateboarders do, but more dangerous. Equestrian sports are also dangerous, mostly from head injuries too.

Like Laconia without engines!
Enjoy the week!
No not at all
Laconia isn't full of self rigorous hipsters.
Self rigorous
I'm going to use that somewhere. I like it.
Most people are self rigorous.

Blessing of the Bikes
Actually that's not true. Here's one, though it's in Southbridge:
Blessing of the BIcycles and Safety Rodeo, tomorrow at 1 pm
I still have a water bottle from a similar event that happened along the Northern Strand path in Malden last June, sponsored by that city's First Lutheran Church.
But Laconia is full of self-righteous
