The boot and its base before the theft. Photo by BFD.
WCVB reports somebody put some work into stealing the boot, outside Engine 33 and Ladder 15 on Boylston Street - it weighs more than 50 pounds and was bolted to the ground.
A crew with sledgehammers smash and grab a donation boot for firefighters killed in the line of duty and MDA is about the lowest one can go in the gene pool. No doubt they also were blessed with the stupidity gene and have posted pictures somewhere on the net.
I've never met a Boston firefighter that wouldn't help someone in need, you won't hear about it often, especially not from them, but they're always helping out people down on their luck. So to steal this donation box, that takes a real lowlife, and at that firehouse of all of them, that makes it even worse.

The same firehouse where
The same firehouse where Walsh and Kennedy worked at before their untimely demise...even more reason to hang these guys by their thumbs.

I hope the theft gets a good boot in the butt.
