By adamg on Thu, 07/30/2015 - 9:32pm
Yes, the movie on how the Globe Spotlight team took on Bernie Law is coming out soon.
You can also read the Phoenix story that actually broke the news before the Spotlight team.

Oh, rats
My eye caught "Bernie Law is coming out soon" and I thought, "It's about TIME!"
Bernie The Pimp
Harvard Prick in Roman Robes.
I remember a group of priests and bishops including Law played softball against Ray Flynn and some cops at Town Field in Dorchester back in the mid-80's; The Lawmen vs The Real Lawmen. If only bats had been used in a more forceful nature then Rome would have one less unidicted co-conspirator today.
Could possibly be a good
Could possibly be a good movie. It's good to see that Roger Stirling landed on his feet post Stirling Cooper.
Perhaps this movie will be an early step in the Globe's new digital strategy? Despite the fact that the that the taxpayers are still helping fund these productions, the good news is that this movie does not involve Johnny Depp or Markey Mark.
I am holding out for the Boston 2024 movie and just hoping that we can get Shirley to play her own part.
I was in a discussion about
I was in a discussion about this in the comments section of another blog.
The most thought-provoking question so far: "What's the over/under on number of characters portrayed with absurdly bad inaccurate accents?"
I don't know about the accents
But the character with the mustache looks pretty much exactly like the reporter/data expert he plays - Matt Carroll (who got his start on the old Middlesex News in Framingham not long before I did).
Imagine how the Shirley Leung column would've read
"Dear Cardinal Law, we're sorry for Boston being uppity and ungrateful. We don't know how good we had it, with personal one-on-one attention from our priests..."
Its nice
That im not the only one that makes light of systemic rape and abuse or the occasional charles river corpse
Whitefish
In refined company, that's "the occasional Charles River whitefish."
nope
There's a difference between leaving jokes on a news site the morning after someone is found dead/dying, for the family to stumble across... and crticizing a very harmful element of our newspaper of record.
Satan Sucks
The greatest trick of the devil was disguising himself as catholic priests. Even atheists should pray that hell exists for Bernie and anyone in law enforcement and government who covered up this scandal.
They should have the premiere
They should have the premiere for this movie on a huge screen outside of the Vatican.
My only issue with this is
My only issue with this is the too close for comfort relationship between the Globe and this movie. I find it distasteful that the Globe pushes their employees books and projects. When a Globe employee authors a book, I find there should be a seperation between the Globe and that employee's project. The Globe will hawk this movie like a pr firm.
Other than that, I think Keaton will do a fine job.
Is the message about the Globe...
Before John Henry = Spotlight Team
After John Henry = Shirley Leung
