Baker, Walsh, Polito, Evans, French Consul General on the bandstand, latter read a short message of thanks for support and solidarity and led all in a minute of silence.

Did everyone forget what they did to Russia? More people died......sad that we can't support all the countries being targeted by ISIS.

I think there's significant media bias in favor of Western European countries, for sure; besides which, the American relationship with Russia is a bit more strained than our relationship with countries like France, Germany, the U.K., Australia, etc., etc., etc. I don't think it's right or fair that the attacks in Beirut or the attack on MetroJet were so under-reported - but I do understand the reasons the media has made such a big deal out of the Paris attacks. It is a big deal. It is, potentially, the start of a very dark new chapter in international relations. For all the vigils and rallies and condolences, it seems inevitable that this will lead to an escalation of the war against ISIS - and perhaps an escalation of ISIS attacks on civilians around the world as well.

What who did to Russia? The French? ISIS? When was there an ISIS attack in Russia?
ISIS
They kind of blew up a plane with 224 people aboard it. Whether or not it was in Russia isn't entirely important. For the most part, it was citizens heading home.

Cute, I saw what you did there. You're correct that it was an attack on Russia; I was thinking of attacks IN Russia, and wondered if you were referring to the Beslan attack (which of course was not ISIS).

I see what you did there. Anon said "Did everyone forget what they did to Russia?" Where did he say anything actually occurred IN Russia, and why does it matter? If ISIS blew up a Delta flight from Montreal to NYC, would that not be an attack on the US? Would it matter if it blew up in the States or outside of?

Just relax, big dog. I didn't disagree with the poster; it was the phrasing of the post that confused me as to what it was referring to.
It's a totally different situation...
Russia and Egypt immediately dismissed that it was a terrorist attack--as far as I know, Egypt and Russia still deny it. That said, knowing that the Egyptians are currently struggling with ISIS over control of the Sinai peninsula where the plane was shot down, also changes perceptions. Chartered plane attacked over ISIS territory = not so relatable and scary; Restaurants, soccer stadium, and a concert venue attacked in a city where many Americans and Europeans have visited and is much like their own cities = much scarier. It's not to say it's more or less tragic.
