Cartoon Characters and Sports Heroes on the Ballot

In Nov. 8-period thread about voting, someone asked for examples of the silly write-in entries I saw at mine. It wasn't as wide-ranging or impulsive as the last primary. Voters seemed to take this election more seriously.

We did see:

• 1 for Ray Flynn for US House
• Several to the effect I-don't-like-any-of-the-choices
• 1 Sponge Bob Square Pants for POTUS
• 1 God for POUTS
• 1 Michelle Obama for POTUS
• A voter who wrote in David Ortiz or Big Papi (alternating) for each elected office
• 1 Tom Brady for POTUS

We had far fewer write-in votes than in a typical elections, Only one cartoon character, if you exempt Curt Schilling. He got got for POTUS.
