Is that a roller coaster in
Is that a roller coaster in the top right corner? Revere Beach?
Orient height MBTA station
Orient height MBTA station (righ) formally named The Winthrop Junction station, the roller coaster you see on the upper right hand corner of photo is Belle isle reservation municipal park .
That's my guess..
Bingo
I'm going with your guess - and that's Revere's old Cyclone roller coaster in the background - guessing around 1930 or so.

(you may need to enter the "_(revere_beach)" part) - working on the link
Link fixed
"Revere Beach Cyclone"
This was the start of the Big
This was the start of the Big Dig. It obviously did not complete in time.
Revere Beach?
My guess is Revere Beach. Road in the center, blue line reservation on the right? I think that's a roller coaster over there in the top right corner.
Edit: Actually, I think that's maybe not going to be a road in the center, but the parking lot just to the north of Wonderland Station, with blue line tail tracks off to the right. Here's an aerial view from 1955 that shows the area I'm talking about. You can see the rollercoaster, and also the rounded-roof building from the photo.

Agreed
To get aerials without that awful copyright watermark (overlaid on maps that are public domain): http://mapjunction.com/mj/start/boston
Thanks for the link!
That site looks fantastic!
Revere
Would the Boston City Archives have pics from Revere, though?
No they would not.
No they would not.
Agreed again
Yes, definitely the construction of the parking lots north of Wonderland station. That's clearly a roller coaster at far right. Besides Revere, the only other roller coaster I can think of around here was at Nantasket, and this is clearly not Hull.
I still can't figure out why the Boston City Archives is posting a picture from the City of Revere.
Shot from the Boston side of the town line?
The Coaster looks to close for this to be the case, but maybe the camera is on the Boston side of the town line?
Because It's Wonderlandorable!
Wonderland is three stops beyond the city limits, but otherwise, the Blue Line is entirely within Boston. The new rapid-transit line with commuter parking lot is more about providing better transportation to and from Boston than Revere. So, today's picture is as much a part of Boston's history as other mystery pictures.
( though, technically it violates the standard "clue rule" )
( Note: Parking lot under construction again in August 2012, below. )
I'll go in the opposite direction
Morrissey Blvd, in the vicinity of Boston Bowl today.
The roller coaster makes me want to make the guess that others have made, but I cannot say Revere.
It can't be Morrissey
because it isn't underwater.
Lower Allston?
The Answer!
Thanks for playing, folks! This one was tricky because it is not, as many of your guessed, in Boston. This photo was taken on March 3, 1954 at the Wonderland MBTA Station - the photo looks north from the station at the parking area. This photo is from our Boston Elevated collection, which is almost entirely composed of Boston photos, but contains a few photos from outside the city limits.
