Police: Kid in Arlington made up the racist text messages he allegedly received
Arlington Police and Arlington public schools say the Ottoson Middle School student who reported receiving racist text messages about another student made the story and the messages up.
Following an investigation, Arlington Police determined that the student who claimed to have received the hateful messages had created the narrative and fabricated the story.
"The allegation of racist texts being sent from one middle school student to another was concerning and hurtful to the entire community and I am disappointed that a student would falsify a report of this nature," Superintendent Bodie said. "Thank you to the Arlington Police Department for its full and thorough investigation."
No charges have been filed at this time, however, police are working with the school department to determine the appropriate corrective action for the student.

No charges?
So, he (or rather his parents, I'm sure) get to drag someone through the mud and ruin their reputation and no charges are being filed? That's just great!
I must've missed it
Where did they name the kid who allegedly sent the text?
Obviously the police will not
Obviously the police will not name the victim. It is clear this kid tried to ruin someone else's character. Should he be given special consideration because his plan didn't come to complete fruition?
He?
Or, she?
Ummm
Being reported to your school as a racist and having a false police report filed against you isn't considered mud-dragging?
Not disputing that
But that's quite a different thing than having your name made public.
Well, not officially
But I'd imagine it's been made known to everyone in Arlington, especially his or her classmates.
Falsifying receiving a racist message is one thing. Specifically targeting a person as having sent said imaginary racist message when they haven't is clearly slander.
One wonders what prompted the
One wonders what prompted the student to make up these serious allegations. Hopefully the parents will get their son/daughter counseling.
Hopefully the parents will
Hopefully the parents will get their son/daughter counseling??? No, hopefully the parents kick his/her ass and he/she never does it again
Ummm
What makes you think it wasn't their idea in the first place?
