Revere man charged with plowing into Callahan Tunnel work site while drunk

Around 2 a.m., Liam Stapleton, 38, of Revere, drove into a work site in the Callahan Tunnel, causing damage to equipment, but, unlike in similar recent crashes, no injuries, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Stapleton had bail set at $500 - prosecutors had asked for $10,000 - at his arraignment in East Boston Municipal Court htis morning on charges of operating under the influence, negligent operation and failure to stay in marked lanes.

Stapleton was also ordered to neither drink nor drive until his case is done.
