As usual, Dan Kennedy has the memo from Globe Editor-in-Chief Brian McGrory, who is promising more details in days to come.

Praise will ring hollow for those who get laid off, won't it?
Reg: [arriving at Brian's crucifixion] Hello, Sibling Brian.
Brian: Thank God you've come, Reg.
Reg: Well, I think I should point out first, Brian, in all fairness, we are not, in fact, the rescue committee. However, I have been asked to read the following prepared statement on behalf of the movement. "We the People's Front of Judea, brackets, officials, end brackets, do hereby convey our sincere fraternal and sisterly greetings to you, Brian, on this, the occasion of your martyrdom. "
Brian: What?
Reg: "Your death will stand as a landmark in the continuing struggle to liberate the parent land from the hands of the Roman imperialist aggressors, excluding those concerned with drainage, medicine, roads, housing, education, viniculture and any other Romans contributing to the welfare of Jews of both sexes and hermaphrodites. Signed, on behalf of the P. F. J. , etc. " And I'd just like to add, on a personal note, my own admiration, for what you're doing for us, Brian, on what must be, after all, for you a very difficult time.

The Globe completely dropped
The Globe completely dropped the ball on the Indy scam. Thank you Joe Battenfeld at The Herald, and Karen Anderson at WCVB for reporting on those crooks.
Dropped the ball
or didn't want to upset Joyce Lineman and Kate Norton and other various friends of Marty?
Shirley gets the shout out
I don't bear her any real ill will but what I remember was stuff like her incessant water carrying for Boston 2024, her pointless article about how you can't buy a single family house in Boston and her general incurious enthusiasm for spending lots of public money on dubious enterprises, largely to benefit private companies, in the name of 'doing big things'.
I'll subscribe to Globe when Shank is gone. If it's still around.
Shirley Leung
I stopped reading the letter, when I saw that he singled her out for praise.
I don't know what kind of shop he's running over there, but I now have zero confidence in any Globe reporting on business or local politics.
Sneak Peak
It's an expansive new section of commentary on the clothing choices of the Moms of Dover and Wellesley. They're gunning for a pulitzer in yoga pants.
Plus ...
A section on discreet Hingham-area detailers who will remove all evidence that you murdered a cyclist in cold blood with your super special Hinghamobile because you hate cyclists. A subject that is near and dear to Mr. "Just run them all over because they are in My Special Way" 's heart!
They still have copy editors?
"Our copy editing team is in a class of its own..." Yeah, that's one way to put it.
