Dudley Square Chinese place cleared to re-open
By adamg on Mon, 12/10/2018 - 12:04pm
It took two follow-up inspections, but China Bo, 49 Warren St., finally met with a Boston health inspector's approval and was allowed to re-open on Friday, according to city restaurant records.
After being shut in November due to a variety of kitchen health issues, the restaurant failed two more inspections before getting cleared to re-open.

Shut down for health reasons
Fails two subsequent inspections.
And it keeps its A rating?
If this is how ISD works, then perhaps it's time to consider abolishing ISD.
Right?
If you fail two inspections so badly that they make you close your doors for a month while you clean up your cesspool of a restaurant, it seems like the LEAST the ISD could do is mandate a re-inspection grade before they let you slap your old "A" rating in the window.
Let me translate
Establishments must meet certain criteria to get that rating.
If they fixed the problems to the level that they merit that rating, then they get that rating.
If a road that had been closed because it was unsafe remained closed after it had been regraded and repaved and inspected, you would be the first to throw fits that it wasn't reopened.
ISD hands out “A” ratings
ISD hands out “A” ratings like candy on Halloween. You get an A, you get an A, everybody gets an A...
Update: About that A rating
Just heard from ISD, which says China Bo no longer has an A rating - or any rating for that matter - so I've deleted the line from the original post here that said it had an A.
I thanked the ISD person who contacted me and suggested they check how the Mayor's Food Court Web site works, because when I checked it the other day (and then again just a few minutes ago), it still showed an A for China Bo.
