Maverick Square
Lewis Street, just outside of Maverick Square, East Boston. Probably taken around 1901, just before construction began on the Blue Line tunnel under the harbor.

It is actually 201 Sumner Street in Maverick Square. Lewis Street is the street in the center running down to the Battery Wharf Ferry.

Yeah, I was actually just coming back to say Sumner not Lewis after reviewing the pic some more. What cemented it as being EB is the sign in the cigar store window advertising "Noddle cigars". For those who don't know, that area of EB used to be an island named Noddle Island.

7-13 Lewis St. You can see the "9" for 9 Lewis Street at the bottom of the Norfolk IPA store. In 1899, Antonio A. Martin is listed as a cigarmaker at 7 Lewis and Isaiah Atkins is listed as a furniture maker at 13 Lewis in Eastie.
Charles St before it was widened
Hard to find a reference because most of the buildings were replaced when it was widened in 1925. If right this would be the west side of Charles.

AA Martin Cigar Shop
Hello all,
Thank you for this information. My mother and I have been doing family tree research. Recently found out AA Martin was my great great grandfather who lived in the apartment above the shop. We loved finding this picture of the shop/street.
