Police to shut roads in Kenmore Square and around Fenway Park tonight

Boston Police are taking no chances with the outcome of tonight's World Series game: Traffic barriers go up at 10 p.m. from the BU Bridge to Mass. Ave. and along Boylston, Ipswich, Lansdowne, Van Ness and Jersey streets.
If they don't win, police say they'll block the area off on game nights until the World Series is decided. The car curfew will remain in place until 3 a.m.
Traffic will be allowed along and near Harvard Avenue in Brighton, around Faneuil Hall and North Station and on streets through and near Northeastern but you won't be able to park there, police say.
Regardless of who wins, fans, whether they support the Red Sox or Dodgers, are expected to behave responsibly and show respect to both people and property in our city. Fans should know disruptive and disorderly behavior will not be tolerated and could result in arrest.

Other than proximity to the area colleges, what attracts fans to this area when tonight's game is 3000+ miles away? The team won't be home until tomorrow morning at the earliest. Are they just going to gather around the park?
I can see extra police if they have a chance to clinch at home next week but this seems extreme for tonight. At least Sunday nights are "double overtime" and I hope far-left John Henry is paying.

The 2013 World Series ended at Fenway Park
which is quite different from it (possibly) ending in Dodger Stadium, 3000 miles away from Kenmore Square.
Were you asleep when they won
Were you asleep when they won the ALCS and World Series on the road in 2004? Fenway Park is the main place where people congregate to celebrate a big win. Sometimes those celebrations devolve into riots. And sometimes those riots devolve into the police killing an innocent college student, but I digress.
Oh no
I didn't want to park within reasonable proximity of my buddy's West End bar to watch Game 5 and have a cold one after working two of my jobs today.
Boston, you're my home, but this is excruciatingly stupid. Why am I being concern trolled? Who is impacted by me parking near the GARDEN as the team who plays at FENWAY plays at DODGER STADIUM? I'm not worried about my car being flipped. I carry insurance, which is already legally mandated.

Won't someone think about the people who insist on drinking and driving?!? They must receive the handout of ample free parking even though North Station is a block away.
So if we win tonight
that likely means that the City will force another victory parade on us on Tuesday, causing the predictable yet unnecessary issues with MBTA overcrowding as people just trying to go to work have to fight with sports fans for space on the commuter trains.
Oh right, the "League" demands the parade must be held as soon as possible after the final win. Because it's somehow unreasonable to require people who make more money in a year than an average person will make in a lifetime to show up for a parade at a later time and place that's convenient for the CITY hosting it.
Such BS, and it bothers me that more people aren't outraged by it.

That's why I moved out of the city
walking to grocery store was nice but it wasn't worth the concentrated stupid that happens like that every month or two.

You do realize that in all professional sports, the players scatter to their off-season homes when they are done playing, right?
Skewed Priorities
I still remember when Marty Walsh magically cleared Boylston Street of all snow during one of the worst snow years in history so that the Patriots could have a parade for suburbanites while those of us in the city neighborhoods lived like refugees waiting for the city to clear snow which took them weeks to do and sometimes they didn't do at all. People's priorities are majorly screwed up.
Don't get yourself all wrought up
The suburbanites coming in for the parade are not gonna be impacting your commute. They'll be rolling in by 10, 11 am or so.
You'd be surprised
The parade going crowds will be gathering by 9 AM. I never understand this, but they do.
I will also make the typical comment that it says a lot about the Boston (and Foxborough) sports teams that we gripe about the celebratory parades. Plenty of cities would love one parade a decade, we get them practically annually.
Rush Hour T service
People come in at rush hour because there are a lot more trains (or trains that actually run on commuter rail lines) at those hours.

- Dear suburbanite sportsball fans, stay in the burbs and stop ruining our (not yours) great city.
- move the parade to the south shore, so it can be closer to the clowns that actual care about a childish parade.
