Teen arrested after early morning BB-gun firing and truck crash in Cambridgeport
Cambridge Police report the arrest of a 16-year-old early this morning by officers investigating reports of gunfire in the area between Henry Street and Putnam Avenue.
Officers arriving on the scene shortly after 1:45 a.m. spotted a truck speeding down Putnam:
When officers turned their vehicle around, they observed a suspect slow the truck down, jump out and flee over a fence. The truck ended up crashing into a parked vehicle, which caused minor damage. After a brief pursuit, officers located and took the suspect into custody. There were no injuries.
Police say the kid admitted shooting off a BB gun with a friend; officers canvassing the area found a loaded BB gun and a walkie talkie.
He was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, reckless operation, violating marked lanes, failing to stop, leaving the scene of an accident, use of a motor vehicle without authority and receiving a stolen motor vehicle, police say, adding their investigation is continuing.

BB is OK
BB guns are legal in Massachusetts as long as you do not fire them across a street.
BB guns
Do they require any sort of license or permit? Is there an age restriction?
