Woman charged with stabbing another woman repeatedly on Howard Street in Roxbury; she remains in critical condition
Boston Police report arresting Joelkiss Gutierrez-Hidalgo, 22, of Dorchester, on charges she tried to kill another woman and nearly succeeded early Monday morning.
According to police, Gutierrez-Hidalgo stabbed the woman around 5:40 a.m., somebody got her to a local hospital before police arrived. Her injuries were life threatening; police say she remains in critical condition but appears likely to survive.
Howard Street runs through an industrial area off Hampden Street; both may have been there for a punto, a sort of roving, open-air dance party.
Gutierrez-Hidalgo was charged with armed assault with intent to murder and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, police say.
