State hits coronavirus milestone: A day without deaths

Today's official state Covid-19 dashboard shows something we haven't seen in a long time: No reported deaths due to the virus.

Massachusetts recorded its first official Covid-19 death on March 20, with numbers increasing until a peak of 252 on April 29.

Although Massachusetts daily case and death numbers continue to decline and despite today's possibly temporary respite, to date, our cumulative 8,054 deaths is third in the country, behind only New York and New Jersey, both of which have more total residents, and ahead of even California.
