When the state says parking is closed at Castle Island, they mean it

Nick Gemelli learned first hand today that the state wasn't kidding around about trying to reduce crowding in the time of coronavirus at Castle Island:

The state also blocked off parking all along Day Boulevard as well as at beaches in East Boston, Dorchester and Quincy.

Last I checked ...
Most people with disabilities of the sort that would keep them from parking some distance out and wheeling in are also people who should carefully consider being out in public at all, due to their health vulnerability.
Nothing keeps them from parking some distance away and rolling in just like people are walking in.

I don’t think anyone would oppose that.
You can also take a bus if the drivers are allowing wheelchairs in the front door.

The last time Castle Island was sealed off like this was when Edgar Allan Poe was stationed there. Legend has it a soldier was sealed up in the fort which inspired Poe to write the Cask of Amontillado.
