Massholes abroad: West Roxbury woman charged with naked golf-cart driving through a Florida crime scene
By adamg on Wed, 09/08/2021 - 1:28pm
A woman who gave a West Roxbury address was arrested in Pinellas County, FL the other day for allegedly driving a golf cart through an active SWAT scene she had nothing to do with. She was naked at the time, police say (note: the story says "Roxbury," but the actual police report, which is linked from the story, shows a West Roxbury address, although possibly not the correct one, since city assessing records list the owners as having Chinese names, rather than her English name).

Chinese name?
What's a Chinese name? Why couldn't this person being renting a house? Check your privilege. Am I doing this right?
No
No
She gave her old address?
She gave her old address? Is this supposed to be a riddle for us to solve?
Renter?
Could be a renter and those are the owners.
Or could just be a liar.
That's a two-family house
Could easily be the tenant.
She lives near the Brookline
She lives near the Brookline line.
She was a long way….
…. from Centre St but maybe protesting a road diet?
Florida gets ...
a "Massachusetts Woman" story?
Man bites dog.
The most surprising thing about this story...
...is that The Smoking Gun site still exists! They seem to have gone a bit downscale since their heyday, though.
Punctuation matters
"Massholes abroad" could also be "Masshole's a broad!"
classic
The classic Florida Man / Woman story always has three parts. One is always a mind altering substance (alcohol, check). One is usually nakedness. And the third is something random - breaking through a police standoff is a new one to me.
The Masshole angle is just sweetener.
Thanks for sharing, Adam.
Clearly, she was just trying to help
If she makes the armed teen on the roof fall over laughing, that... probably allows an end to the standoff?
Curious that the police officer checked "no"
for both "indication of alcohol influence" and "indication of mental health issues" (but specifically remarked on the smell of alcohol.)
It's Florida.
How would they know it is the second? :-)
terminology question
While a weird and foreign place, doesn't abroad imply crossing the ocean to a different country?
That would be overseas.
That would be overseas. Canada is abroad.
