Fatal pickup crash in Dorchester

Live Boston reports a person died after a pickup crashed into a tree at a high rate of speed on Talbot Avenue at Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday. WBZ reports the impact split the pickup in half.

Seeing how hard it hit the tree I thought the same, but I am thinking someone misjudged how snow effects handling.

Last night a friend told me about two other friends' teenagers who recently wrecked the family car (and nearly themselves and their passengers) in snow-related accidents. No drugs, no alcohol, no extremely bad conditions -- just rookie mistakes by inexperienced drivers who, as you say, just didn't understand how snow affects handling.
