Last night a friend told me about two other friends' teenagers who recently wrecked the family car (and nearly themselves and their passengers) in snow-related accidents. No drugs, no alcohol, no extremely bad conditions -- just rookie mistakes by inexperienced drivers who, as you say, just didn't understand how snow affects handling.
