By adamg on Thu, 01/28/2021 - 3:24pm
Shortly before 2:30 p.m. near Pagel Playground at the Jamaica Plain/Roslindale line, Stanley Staco reports. Both MBTA and Amtrak trains were affected; overhead power was shut off.
Some Providence and Franklin Line train were sent down the Fairmount Line instead; one train from Providence to Boston was canceled. Train 1809, scheduled to leave South Station at 2:20 p.m., was near the scene when it was put in reverse and sent back to where it could get onto the Fairmount Line.

Amtrak is reporting delays
What should they report it as?
Because
People aren't supposed to be on the right of way, so whoever it was trespassed to be there. This is opposed to someone disregarding a grade crossing.
Also, reporting that there is a delay due to a trespasser incident is a good euphemism. Every alternative is too graphic.
Or, you could just tell
Or, you could just tell everyone that someone got hit on the tracks.
It's more respectful to inform your customers the same way you'd inform your boss's boss. You don't give your boss euphemisms about what happened. You tell them what happened.
At Blakemore Bridge
This happened at the Blakemore Bridge area, my neighborhood. BFD took access to remove the victim from behind the auto body shop at 411 Hyde park Ave a few hundred feet north of the bridge (toward Forest Hills). Person not viable. I'll skip the rest.
