As a former Harvard Employee (and someone who spent a lot of undergrad there): DON'T RUB THE FOOT. It's a senior 'game' to do various terrible things to the statue and that foot, knowing that the only people who touch it are tourists and freshman. Nothing wakes you up at 2am walking by a guy wanking it on 'John's' lap....
