I think he just loves the limelight. He wasn't getting much of that as a cabinet secretary, and he probably found life outside his frog pond a bit of a letdown, so...
He's done a lot better than me or any of you in terms of accomplishments.
If he was a she and had say moved here from Seattle and been a labor leader, a state rep, mayor and a cabinet secretary, all while being a cancer survivor and a recovering alcoholic, there would be people in some neighborhoods throwing rose petals at her feet every morning about how brave this person was in life.
Instead, he had the UHub sin of being born Irish American and from Dot, therefore he must be evil.
Was his run as mayor perfect? No. The Olympic trial balloon was wrong and the Ten People on Twitter, including many, many insufferable people involved in the push against it were right.
Let's hope he works to get Bettman out the door, force a move of Phoenix to Houston and get a team in Hamilton.
I can picture him and remembered his name, but I don't recall at all what his schtick was. (Don't tell me, if I really want to know, there's always Youtube.)
Yes, he seems to be confusing the players' association with the League office. Imagine being so thoroughly out to lunch that you thought the union controls franchise locations.
If you force Bettman out, you can help get an NHL president that guides the league to areas where the players make more money (Houston - biggest US market without a team and no income taxes) and Hamilton (rabid fan base - lots of full seats as opposed to Phoenix).

Between Marty Walsh becoming the Executive Director of NHL Players’ Association and Charlie Baker becoming the president of the NCAA, that's pretty impressive for two locals, huh?

Shocking, I always thought he
Shocking, I always thought he would be in politics , it’s always about the larger paycheck at the end of the day, unreal.

Of course he is.
The career opportunist continues failing upward.
So now a hockey player can go
So now a hockey player can go from being a college player exploited by Charlie Baker to a pro represented by Marty Walsh. That's kind of interesting.
Good For Him

He was a poor fit for the job of Mayor.
And tired of it relatively quickly. If you worked in his administration, you would understand.
I mean, he is evil
Because he's a centrist Democrat cultist.
I need not cite his ancestry or where he was reared.
Which is your issue
Is he evil because he is a centrist or a democrat?
Do you need a wellness check?
Or are you simply refusing to take your prescriptions?
Uhub Sin
Why don't you climb down off that cross once in a while? Someone else might want to use it.
Good to see you're branching out
Not having any idea how the NHL works is a new frontier for you and I look forward to seeing your uninformed opinions on other sports.
I Love Triggering
I put out the bait and the typical responses come flowing in.
Excellent job twerps.
oh give it a rest
you are the most earnest poster on this website and it’s not close.
That's only because
Jim Varney died like 25 years ago.
Oh Ernest
I can picture him and remembered his name, but I don't recall at all what his schtick was. (Don't tell me, if I really want to know, there's always Youtube.)
My understanding of the word "trigger" is that
it means to provoke an emotional response, and not to elicit calm, rational, amusing putdowns to an obviously inane comment, as here.
Oh, you're a master baiter
Even the nuns couldn't break you of that habit
ignore the screen name
His father was Ichabod Bates. When they arrived at a function the host would say, "May I introduce Mister Ichabod Bates, and his son, Master Bates".

See?
Now piss off.
Who do you think hires and pays Bettman?
Hint: it's the guys on the opposite side of where Walsh will be negotiating. Walsh has about as much influence over Bettman as you or I do.
Who? When?
Can you provide any evidence of the claims you're making? If you can't, then you're basically admitting to spewing total B.S.
Let see how you do.
Not the first Marty Walsh

Bike lane next to the Zamboni?
Nah, this is Marty we're talking about
If you're a hockey player, you've gotta understand: Zambonis are going to hit you.
NHL Player’s Association
I do not believe is affiliated with the AFL-CIO.
