Brookline.News reports the Coolidge Corner Theatre, which is showing both "Oppenheimer" and "Barbie," sold more tickets their opening weekend than on any other weekend in history.
I can easily believe this. I haven't seen "Oppenheimer" yet and probably won't as I have already seen way to many documentaries about the man over the years, but the "Barbie" movie, now that was something special.
I think the only time I was at a completely sold out showing of anything before was the Beatles first movie at the Mayflower back in the 1960s.
