Shortly before 5 p.m., a car somehow wound up on its side off the Jamaicaway outbound in Jamaica Plain. Mbskis captured the aftermath. The Boston LOL shows us the newly downed light pole.

Was the light pole wearing a helmet?

...But your mother was.

Your comment was so original Bartlett's is incorporating it into their latest edition.

That'll give drivers something more to read on their phones while they cruise along our roads.

Suburban visitor to Boston driving highway speeds on older road not built for current cars & density, taking their chances on the twist and turns (often switching lanes to save the wear and tear on their wrists from all that steering) does the inevitable. Hopefully no other cars were impacted. The Jamaicaway needs traffic calming measures stat.

We don’t know who was at fault. It could be that this driver was doing nothing wrong, and was impacted by someone else swerving across a line.

What cars was it built for? Did said cars handle better or worse than modern cars?

Frederick Law Olmsted designed it in the late 1800s for horse-drawn vehicles.

Ah, the old "carriage road" line. I think you'll find this road is quite different than the road in the late 1800's.

Oh those Massholes, in Jamaica Plain they hit light poles, in Roslindale they hit buildings . . .
