Eastie farm started out as an organization that transformed a vacant City-owned lot into an urban farm. In partnering with the community, it achieved buy-in from skeptics. Since then they have come a long way, and now partner with local schools, run a geothermal greenhouse, and distribute free/low cost healthy food community wide. While urban agriculture will not itself sustain us, it reaps beyond what is sown.
