Right now at the Fresh Pond rotary is a guy with a sign saying "SHIVA 4 PRESIDENT."
Far fetched? Well, hey, look who's registered with the FEC.
Ayyadurai, of course, would rather put his anti-vax bonafides up against RFK Jr. in a court of law.

I'll admit to being pedantic at times myself, but if you are so literal that you can't imagine a hypothetical debate between the two of them because they have different registered political affiliations, you might be commenting on the wrong website.

All kidding aside….
I have watched the political and social discourse in this country erode steadily since 2012. When I look at guys like Shiva who are obviously smart and well educated, and a guy like RFKJr and his background, it is boggling to be how broken they are in some fundamental basic way, either in their perception of reality or their interpretation of facts.
People dump on millennials and Gen Z for needing therapy, being raised on ADHD meds, weak because of gluten allergies, etc… but guys like this, people who follow Trump or MTG or Sarah Palin - how did people have their minds warped so much? We’re they are traumatized as kids, abused by peers, etc?
I was made fun of for being fat in middle school, mercilessly, but I didn’t grow up to claim vaccinations were akin to the holocaust or that Covid was a plot for ethnic cleaning or that windmills give you cancer, so either these people are psychotic, or they just lie to manipulate the weak.

Gen X'er here-- what do you mean? Honest question, looking for new material. My go-to's are more like "Can't engage in any activity unless it's scheduled for them" and "Believe that any new app is a good and necessary one" and "Unable to form attachments to anything other than brands."
Have you been to MIT lately?
Smart over there can be smart in a very narrow sense and lacking common sense otherwise. And well-educated can mean "manages to get the right p-sets in" but having nothing to do with the real world.
There are plenty of normal-ish people who come out of the Institute … and plenty who are not.
