Police in Brookline step up patrols around Jewish institutions

Brookline Police said tonight:

The Brookline Police Department has been monitoring what has been happening in the Middle East. While the devastation is occurring more than 5,000 miles away, the impact of these terrible events is not limited to the Middle East. It is felt here in Brookline as well.

The Brookline Police Department is committed to keeping our religious community safe, and to that end we will be providing extra attention around our Jewish institutions to ensure the safety of all of those who wish to participate in any of their activities.

We wish a safe week for all, and we join those in the community who are hoping for an end to the fighting and loss of life.
