Police ID man wanted as kidnapping Dorchester car thief as former South Shore man who likes to steal cars, drive like a fool
Update: Suspect arrested.
Boston Police report they are looking for Cristofanes Mendes, 33, on charges of kidnapping and auto theft for an incident in which he got into a couple's vehicle at Geneva Avenue and Leroy Street in Dorchester, drove off, then returned to drop off their 2-year-old son before speeding off again.
Police tagged Mendes as a Boston resident. However, in 2019, he was living in Hanson when he was arrested in Brockton on auto theft charges - after failing to ram his way out of a police blockade in his Dodge Caravan. At the time, Brockton Police said he had made a life for himself of "stealing cars and driving recklessly."
If he looks familiar, contact detectives at 617-343-4335, or the anonymous tip line by calling 800-494-TIPS or by texting TIP to CRIME (27463).
Innocent, etc.

Here's an example
Here's an example of someone who shouldn't be allowed to drive ever again. Harder to kidnap kids on a bike.
