What else could go wrong on the T? How about all the fare-card machines going on the fritz?

The MBTA reports:

Earlier tonight, the MBTA experienced a power outage that caused a systemwide disruption to credit & debit card processing at fare vending machines. The power issue has been resolved & all fare vending machines are now functioning properly. We apologize for any inconveniences.

With all that has befallen the T of late, is it possible it's sabotage and not just fate.

No need to ascribe malice when the T has more than enough incompetence to go around.

Why would anyone go to the trouble of sabotaging a system that terrorizes itself on a daily basis?

Ever heard of cyberattacks?

I do believe that they are all still running on Windows XP.

I take the T to and from work 2-3 times per week, so it makes the most sense for me to refill my Charlie Card periodically, as opposed to a monthly pass. These new machines are WILDLY inconsistent in processing credit and debit purchases. It typically takes me no less than 3 attempts to load money on to my card. The touch screens are also notably losing their functionality.

Another corner cut by the MBTA.

Please stop asking that question.
