Anybody use OpenID to log in here?

I've been slowly playing around with upgrading UHub to the next (by like three generations) version of the underlying software. In addition to important stuff like better display on mobile devices (fun fact: Most people now look at UHub on their phones, by like a 2-1 margin over desktop browsers) and ongoing support for security fixes, the new version will allow emojis (who doesn't like emojis?).
I've gotten to the point where I think I know how the new software works, so now I have to map out migrating all the posts and photos and user IDs (oh my), and that includes not migrating stuff that's become the equivalent of dust bunnies. So, let me know if you use OpenID as a way to log in - if yes, I'll keep it, if nobody does, I'll drop it. Thanks!

Does it allow annon posting? If no, than do not update. I do not like using accounts that can easly be broke into. I post only if annon or use fake accounts to post if need.

— it was an emerging thing a decade ago, and had _some_ uptake as late as 2016, but has severely atrophied since then. In particular, Facebook was one of the major proponents, but they ceased their support for it by 2018, after others had already abandoned it:
Seems like a lot of websites these days support signing in with Facebook &/or Google accounts, which is as close as we seem to have to an “open” standard for identity anymore (that is, not all that “open”, but here we are).
As much as I hate to say it, it seems like that dream of an open, federated web didn’t end up catching on, and most of the world moved away from it by 2018.

The fun part, of course, is that the log in with Google buttons, at least, just run an OpenID Connect login against Google's servers (https://developers.google.com/identity/).
I remember OpenID.
I used Jan Rain's service, and Verisign Labs at another time as well. Something beginning with "cl" too, but I can't remember the full name. All of it was "delegated", meaning I could use my own domain as my identity but delegate the details to one service or another (just like I do with email).
I miss it. It was a great idea.
And... it's still there, a little bit. Dreamwidth, successor to Livejournal, actually still supports it.
Username and password for me

As a technical lead for an identity management and authorization team, I’d recommend having an identity management service. We use Azure B2C to support logins from “social providers” like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, etc. I never want to manage usernames and passwords for a service ever again! Though, if you want to retain username/password functionality, B2C does support “local” accounts.
While we’re making feature requests, how about Markdown support?

Adam, I’ve always used my user name and password. I never log in to any site using my Facebook, Google, etc. logins so I hope you’ll consider keeping the username/password option if it isn’t too much trouble. I add my thanks for all your work on this site that I appreciate so much!

I'll never log in to anyplace using FB or Google - they don't need to know which sites I visit. I appreciate being able to use username/password, as well as all your work both reporting and dealing with the IT end of things.

Since OpenID is no longer supported, I think you would be doing yourself a favor to get rid of it from a security perspective, regardless of if anyone here is using it or not.

At least on Chrome on iPhone, the scrollbars jump back and forth when you're trying to read the articles. It's done so for the last several versions of Chrome. I'm only able to read it on desktop browser.

I'm surprised you don't have access to that, Adam. I mean, maybe not at the per-user how do they log in, but at a minimum, aggregate stats for local user vs OpenID.
