Flaming leaves at Stony Brook shut the Orange Line early this morning

Boston firefighters responded to the Stony Brook Orange Line station around midnight after smoke began filling the station from a fire on the outbound tracks.

MBTA workers managed to extinguish the fire quickly, but the T kept the power in both directions shut until firefighters could ensure the smouldering pile would not flare up again.

WCVB reports a spark from a train bound for Forest Hills apparently sparked the leaves.

That is not the worst thing to happen to the Orange Line today.
