They'd force complice by cities by withholding grants. But now it looks like the feds are withholding grants to all cities, even the "loyal" ones, probably to squeeze every penny into further tax cuts for billionaires.

So I didn't know what they plan to threaten Wu with. It's clear Trump and friends will try to make Boston in particular suffer as much as possible irrespective of any backpedaling Wu could possibly do. (Not that I think she will.)

I suppose it's possible they could offer to take the knee off the neck if Boston elects Kraft. I guess that's one way he could win.

Try, regular platform for back-scratching, praise and nothing ever substantially more than a token softball question that may elicit a firm talking point, maybe a whiff of first order explanation, but no debate. “‘GBH” will never risk burning their bridges, or turning off their chosen audience, so their “interviewees” will never come out tarnished. There’s nothing these top pols say that can’t be said in half the time, and there’s nothing we learn from them that can’t be learned from a staffer, or local expert.

BPR cut these Mayor/Governor/AG bully pulpit hours by half and follow up with an hour and a half of reputable local poli-sci folk who adhere to the spirit of fair discourse and debate!!!

I’m not saying there’s nothing to learn from these BPR State and Local Leadership Platforms, it’s better than Jim and Margery going on and on about doilies, or whateverthefuck they pad their time with and waste our time with. There’s too much to discuss to be wasting time on inane “who’s the a-hole” social media gazing.

Sure, the audience may be streaming-off to their safe podcast and streaming bubbles, free from discomfort, but the free airwaves of the FM and AM dial are the town square and are a pillar of democracy. “NPR*” (*et al.) has a responsibility to the people, their purpose is not to be a springboard for commercial enterprise. NPR’s mission has been poisoned by underwriters not saved by them.

Wu is no dummy and is a good public speaker. She will make a ton of excellent points, but Fox news (et al) will find ONE THING that she says and twist it and play that on repeat for 24 hours.
