We hadn't seen or heard about Chicken Man since shortly after the 2013 Marathon.
But the other night, Tom McLaughlin posted this photo of a truck that sure looked like Chicken Man's, only now covered in dots and no longer sporting a large LED readout featuring the words "Chicken Man" or some inspirational saying. Read more.
SupperGuppy was on Boylston Street today when she noticed that while Chicken Man may be enigmatic, he's not unaware of current events.
The kidlet and I were on State Street this afternoon when this weird see-through box truck filled with mylar balloons passed us. "Chicken Man!" I screamed, although not loud enough to scare her. He turned down Merchants Row. Of course, we followed, and there it was, parked on the side of Chatham Street: the Chicken Man truck. As we approached, an older lady was fiddling with the back of the truck. Chicken Woman? A small car pulled up, A 50ish guy got out. Chicken Man!
As Spearmintkitten, who snapped the Chickenmanmobile near BC on Friday, puts it: "WTF."
He is apparently different from this Chickenman (the one we're supposed to remember) and this one and this one and, of course, the Chicken Man of Codman Square (who doesn't even look like a chicken).
Whoever, or whatever he is, though, he gets around. In fact, read to the bottom of that link to see how he may be "a daily Mass-going Catholic" who enjoys a dip in the pool at BC.
