He blows his chance to be quoted in the Globe

Greg Reibman tweets he was in Sugar in West Roxbury while a Globe reporter was doing a man-in-the-street interview about what people think about Menino (because, apparently, last month's results weren't enough):
I decided to be nice and passed.
Which is probably just as well, since a) Reibman lives in Newton and b) He's publisher of GateHouse Media New England's Boston-area newspapers.

Shoulda don't it
Shoulda done it, anyway. I love hearing Man on the Tweet interviews.
How we did 'em back in the day
In my cub-reporter days at the Middlesex News in Framingham, we tended to hit up a particular diner on Rte. 9 (typically in the morning for the afternoon edition; it's now an Indian restaurant). Because most of the patrons sat at the counter on stools, editors would order the nearest un-busy looking reporter out to do a stool sample.
Ewwwwww.
Ewwwwww.
Oh, I never stooped so low myself
Um, right. In any case, I had a special place in my heart for that place because it's where I did the one man-in-the-street I ever actually enjoyed (way better than going to Shoppers World one day and asking random strangers what they thought about three whales being trapped by ice off Canada, and never mind the completely random weekly series we had to do in which we stopped people in the street to ask them things such as "If you could be reincarnated as an animal, whiat kind of animal would you want to be reincarnated as?"). It was to find out how actual coffee drinkers felt about some stupid study that either showed coffee was bad for you or good for you. I can't remember which, doesn't really matter, since, to a man, and yeah, they were all men, they treated whatever the news was with the exact right amount of complete scorn, some of which was even printable.
