Is it just me or have the Boston Now paper distributors become more aggressive over the past few weeks? It's getting to the point where papers are being forced in front of me and I need to swat them away to get by. ...
Non-disclosure disclosure: I'm no longer writing a weekly column for the Globe, so I don't have to post a disclosure anymore when I write about competing newspapers.

your non-disclosure
so what happened to your column?
They decided it was time to move on
Or "take the section into a different direction." So maybe, if they keep doing a blog column, they'll have a staff writer do it (like they do for West Weekly). City Weekly's a pretty decent section (if you haven't actually read it over the past couple of years, you should; it's much better). Ah, well, it was a fun run while it lasted.

McGrory's hidden finger
Oh, my, I didn't even think of that. But I'm doubting it because the regional weeklies are separate from the metro desk, the column never mentioned him and, well, he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who knows what a blog is. But maybe that's why I'm not a good reporter - I'm just not cynical and suspicious enough.
Lackaday
Oh, sadness. I had looked in the weekly neighborhoods section for you to no avail. If the Globe noted they had done something so stupid, I missed it.
I'm sorry your column is gone, and not just because you'd mention some of my posts. While I check Universal Hub regularly, 1) you saved little goodies for the column and 2) you made locals aware of spiffy bloggy news and features they wouldn't see elsewhere.
If the daily's record of blog coverage continues, they won't have your breadth and insight.
Pout.
Speaking as...
...a former Globe freelancer who has experience with this same thing (being dropped unceremoniously, from one of the regional weekly sections at that), you're probably better off anyway.
