An Allston Christmas sampler

We walked the merry streets of Allston today as thousands of students moved in - many with the help of parents, and under the watchful eye of ISD inspectors, police and signup-mad, red-shirted Comcast reps. Here are some photos.

Nothing says Middle School
Nothing says Middle School rite of passage like shooting a young buck in the Black Forest.
I wonder if you need to have the head stuffed before you load it on the plane to bring it home?
Redshirts, you say?
Let's hope that means they won't stay around very long.
Towing at Comcast office
I was over at the Hertz location which is beside the Comcast office on Cambridge Street in Allston. There was a line out the door of the Comcast office and people where double-parking in the lot and around the side of the building. A towing company was towing cars on people who had double-parked or were parked around the side of the building (and there was no parking on the street).
It was a nasty thing to do and I saw at least one woman in tears. And (I think) the towing company's office were just behind the building where Comcast is. All I can say, is what a shower of shites the towing company are.
A nasty thing to do? They
A nasty thing to do? They were illegally parked, per your description. That is unsafe and stupid. They should be towed!
Police?
Was there a cop there directing the towing? If they're being towed from a public street, then they can only be towed by order of the police (Sergeant or higher I think for the city of Boston.)
Sounds like a towing company may have been getting a little overzealous to make a few bucks.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. They
Sorry if I wasn't clear. They weren't being towed from the street. Cars parking at the side of the building were being towed, and it looked like the towing company is located just behind the building.
