Fenway Christmas can be every bit as rewarding as its better known Allston counterpart

Good God, Lion!

About the only thing that could improve this coffee table would be a large leg lamp standing next to it.

Jeremy Sarna captured the table, no doubt snapped up moments later, at the corner of Queensbury and Jersey, where, he notes, "every day is Allston Christmas." He adds that, sorry, the lion was not anatomically correct, unless, perhaps, it had been pre-gold gelded.

My home will not be complete until I have a coffee table as fine as that.

And looking at this gem, I'm thinking of trolling Newbury Street...

Too bad there isn't a story to go with this piece of art. Its probably the most common one, that a SO moving in had a condition that certain items had to go, to be replaced with generic ones from a place like Pottery Barn. What some people will give up for love ...

BTW, the lion is a tame theme. Naked women is more popular for tables, and there are so many interesting ones out there from image searches. The upholstered vagina couch from a craigslist ad looked warm and inviting.

The most "common condition" I've seen for things left on the curb is "it wouldn't fit through the door".

And Portland. Just wide enough for bikes I suppose.

The stairs are quite narrow with low clearance. Ditto for colonial-era houses.

You must not have moved anywhere around here.

I guess the doorways are just tall enough for that one to have flown overhead.

I simply chose to ignore the drive-by anon's failed attempt to be cute.

And have helped move in many, many more. I know very well how narrow the stairs, hallways and doors are.
But I'm not familiar with this phenomenon you claim RE the furniture being abandoned b/c it's too big. I'm used to seeing smaller junky stuff like the table in question.

But you have all the answers as usual. Care to cite a source for your theory or dot you have X-ray vision to be so sure all the stuff you've sen was left b/c it was too large?

Its more often a man hears from a woman that certain items must go, so you might not have experienced it yourself.

No one likes an anecdote, especially yourself!, so please back up your claim with statistical evidence or leave the discussion to the city dwellers.

I actually bought this table & am planning to sell it. This is a hand painted Sermel Tonala papier mache coffee table. It is hand made & signed. this table is amazing & pretty much speaks for itself. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me at [email protected]
