Impressive! I've seen hawks perch on rooftops
in the city, but never on someone's wrought iron fence.

He practically has a rodent buffet right at his toes and doesn't look like he's missing many meals!

They puff out.

Also, the biggest ones are the ladies.

After a exhausting weekend with the election stuff, it's nice to see something simple like a cute bird on a fence.

as it almost certainly is, it must be a juvenile, because otherwise it would have a red tail.

The residents were probably relieved that it wasn't one of those militant turkeys. It is almost THAT day of the year and all!

Too bad turkeys are usually too big for the hawks. Would be a nice "Nature vs. Nature" episode.

Living in one of BU's brownstones, one of the girls who lived across the hall came into my room freaked out because there was a red-tailed hawk on her fire escape, eating a pigeon right outside her window. She was terrified of birds and wanted someone to come in and close her blinds so she wouldn't have to go near the window or see him.

I volunteered for the chance to get that close to a bird of prey. It was pretty cool.
