And the Gardner paintings are...?

"Federal investigators, in an unprecedented display of confidence that the most infamous art theft in history will soon be solved, said Monday that they know who is behind the Gardner Museum heist," the Boston Globe reported in....2013.

This happened in March of 1990, 26 years ago. Doesn't theft usually come with a statute of limitations?

Thank God they weren't distracted by petty stuff like violent crime and potential threats to national security.

They got THE SHIRT back!!! Plus the other shirt he didn't even know he was missing. I can hardly wait for the Mark Wahlberg movie.

All crime should be ignored, because the most important crimes can't be solved.

Makes sense

just "crimes" when a grown man's football jersey gets taken.

oh, and if the grown man is a proven cheat that is all the more reason to let the "crime" go.

pats first 3 superbolws = spygate
pats 4th super bowl = deflategate
pats 5th super bowl = firealarmgate (a well rested steelers team would have beaten the pats).

one of these days the cheatriots will win a super bowl with cheating...one of these days....

Spygate - looking at opposing team in an OPEN and PUBLIC stadium. NO effect on outcome of game,

Deflategate - using slightly underinflated footballs because of laws of physics. NO effect on outcome of game

Firealarmgate (seriously?!?) - No relation to football games, or to pointless niggling NFL rules (ee spygate and deflate gate) - turned out to be drunken fan with NO connection to team, and had NO effect on outcome of game. Not to mention that Patriots endured similar late night hotel fire alarms when prepping for their previous Super Bowl - where were the cries that the opposing team cheated?

But I guess you'd better hurry up, the K-Mart blue light special on tinfoil ends in twenty minutes.

Not what I said at all.

I was simply ridiculing the breadth and depth of resources brought into play in this case, especially from early on. Initially, it should have been a matter for the Houston Police and the Texas Rangers/State Police (assuming the stadium is some sort of state jurisdiction) alone, and they could bring in those other agencies/offices when a lead determined extra resources were needed (especially international).

...especially since, yes, this is a stolen shirt. That's it.

Yes - Brady, the Krafts, and the NFL/Hall of Fame each have their interests in getting it back. I'd just prefer the Feds to be concentrating on preventing/solving stuff that actually hurts defenseless people.

Besides - Brady really isn't that important or great.

Chuck Norris wouldn't have been down 19 points that late in the game in the first place.

Foreign journalists break into locker rooms to give Chuck Norris their shirts.

Pro tip: Chuck Norris ISN'T a professional football player.

The comeback was indeed great. So you Patriots haters keep hating. Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever. The patriots are Superbowl champs again. The fans are happy.

And the FBI was involved because it was an international crime, you know, beyond the reach of Houston PD and Texas Rangers.

Now carry on with your miserable lives. Maybe someday pilates will be a major sport and you can have your own heroes.

It's just another brick in the wall.

Breaking this major case MUST be why the FBI can't figure out who was infiltrating the US elections -they obviously had much more important things to solve...

Brady knew the first shirt was missing. It wasn't reported so WE didn't know. But now that he has the shirts back, 10 to 1 he auctions them off to benefit a charity. What are you doing to better the world?

Some poor kid riding the T or in school will have his Patriots Jersey stolen and no one will care.

up
Voting closed 0

That kid's jersey is worth, what, $75? TB12's jersey is valued at half a million.

up
Voting closed 0

Well maybe the poor anonymous kid on the T, will use this experience to strengthen himself, much like the 199th draft pick in the 2000 NFL draft

Because Tom Brady was a poor kid for sure.

Did you really just compare a kid getting mugged on the T with a grown man being drafted 'late' in the NFL?

Sigh....patriots fans.

The grown man in question is sort of the topic of this post, and the legend has been that he has grown through athletic adversity (no actual adversity has ever been claimed, up to the whole thing with his mum being ill, which is why this jersey is more important to him than the one he lost 2 years ago.)

The government can't find the time to give two cacas about the 43 missing students or the thousands of people disappeared since 2006, a wanted ex-governor who stole millions and under whose administration fake cancer treatments were given to children is still on the loose and just today yet another journalist was murdered, for which it is almost certain that no one actually responsible for it will ever see justice.. But hey, they put their top men on the missing sportsball shirt.

In Mexico, everyone is just super pleased with the attorney general's office.

He's the main character of the TV which is a spin-off of a popular 70's TV show about a large family. Here's a plot summery:

Time has not been good to Tom. Although close growing up, he's now estranged from his siblings as a result of a prolonged estate lawsuit following his father's death and the sudden death of two of his step-sisters. Tom works as an accountant, or at least tried to work as one as his alcoholism has cost him several jobs. His marriage ended years ago and he contemplates suicide.

I'm not surprised you haven't heard of the show. It's pretty depressing.

Yea I would hate to pay taxes to our government for assisting me in collecting items stolen from me and brought out of our country.

Now if only the FBI could help my wife track down a couple of my socks.

Yea, yea, highly-valued item. Still, a sweat-soaked jersey that shouldn't be worth that much.

up

It's now the most famous sweat-soaked jersey in the world. That's what makes it worth something.

Wasn't it Houston PD that escalated the issue to DEFCON 2? Their city hosted the Super Bowl, and the missing jersey was bad press.
