Abominable snowmobile on the Lynnway
By adamg on Tue, 03/03/2009 - 11:14am
Cody Pomeray forwarded this fine example of Massholishness on the Lynnway this morning, adding:
The part you can't see is that this guy is also on the phone while driving the abominable snowmobile. Perhaps he was calling a friend to borrow a brush?

ah, classic.
Whadya mean, poor visibility? Both my side mirrors are workin just fine!
green
This guy is going green whole hog by reducing his gas consumption bucketloads. Indeed, the wind+snow built up a custom addition to reduce aerodynamic drag on his vehicle. It has a perfect wedge shape on the back. :-)
A veritable Kammback of snow!
Slap an electric motor in there and you've got a mega-Prius!
What time was that?
I commute that way, too. I saw a some scary-snow covered cars. There must be a shortage or brushes and scrapers! The worst one was a minivan yesterday afternoon along Lynn Shore Drive, and the woman was also on her phone. I thought the cops were supposed to ticket for that? (the snow, not the phone)
The same on Comm Ave this morning
I had a car pass me where they had brushed off the front, driver side, and rear windows, but left snow on the roof, passenger side, trunk and hood. I was glad it came towards the end of my scooter ride in, because I really didn't want to die when he would have come over to the right on top of me...or dumped a huge pile of melting snow right under my wheels on an otherwise clear street.
It happened at 8:59 am
In fairness, I was the masshole taking a blackberry picture while driving!
(His hood was completely covered as well.)
ah
I pass that way about 7:15.. traffic seemed worse than normal so I went by the beach through Revere..
Inexcusable
especially as it's a sedan. NOT that I think it's OK to drive an "igloo" if you have an SUV or van, mind you, but at least you're talking about a lot more surface area to clear.
Sadly, I've seen even more reprehensible- that's a Town Car, and that's bad enough, but yesterday I saw a Mini Cooper igloo. If you buy a subcompact car and can't find the time to clear it properly, you have issues.
Yeah, clean your Mini
Like Monty does.
Just Shake It Off
It works for muddy jeeps.
Not just Massholish
but in this case, also quite illegal:
Clearing off your license plate
It's not just a good idea. IT'S THE LAW.
I suspect there are also laws against driving with obstructed rear windows and brake lights, too.
Remember the lights, too
I saw a number of glowbuggies with snow covered headlights and tail lights waiting at the train station last night.
After clearing them off and driving in dirty spray, a hand full of snow or two on the front and rear lenses will also make your car more visible to other drivers and make it easier to see. Bonus points if you can grab some with washer fluid in it off the hood well.
Impressive
I wonder how far he managed to drive while keeping all that snow so pristine? It looks like there's even some still on the windshield.
I really wish cops would catch more people that do that - I saw a woman driving a completely covered car, with only a little spot on the windshield clear, while on the cell phone, taking one of those really wide cell phone turns.
Ha!
I'd never heard that term before. Yet I can picture it *exactly.*
King of all Massholes
I think we have a winner: Photo of somebody in West Concord this morning driving with the door open while he or she attempts to clear off the windshield.
Winners?
The picture may be a winner but judging by the sigs the posters are not. Kind of scary in fact.
No Kidding
Man, that website is disturbing. Barely repressed anger, a sense of superiority, and guns? What could possibly go wrong? My favorite is the guy who is already rehearsing his tough guy lines for when he gets to be a cop.
you people need help. "oh
you people need help. "oh no, some law abiding citizens have guns and like to talk about their hobby???? They all must be evil!"
after you're all done soiling yourself, grow up ;)
Really?
Try www.masscops.com (LEO web forum), browse around for a while, THEN come back and say how bad the evil
They won't even TRY to repress the anger.
Hey, post something like "I got a ticket for driving in that storm on Monday because I didn't get a chance to brush of the snow! Is this LEGAL?!"
Let me know what they say! ROTFLMAO
You had to go and do it, didn't you
Now you woke up the loonies.
loonies?
You really need to get a grip. The weird hoplophobia that you seem to have only furthers the wedge between citizens who should be working together to solve issues of violence and disenfranchisement rather than attacking each other. We have names for you as well; sheep, prey, victim, etc. but none of that is very helpful in the long run. Don't like guns? Don't buy one then. The reality is that legal gun owners are not the bad guys, and to dust off an old cliche, the bad guys do not care about gun laws. ...not sure what you expect when you link to a place and make fun of the people there, especially all of us "loonies". I'll excuse your name calling though and ask you instead to peruse firearms related sites and educate yourself on the reality of the situation.

Wow - it's amazing the guy
Wow - it's amazing the guy who took the pic of the person in Concord didn't just jump out and gun the driver down. It's well known that people who have guns are homicidal maniacs. I am sure Deval Patrick and Obama will protect us though. It's quite obvious the police are who should be taking care of problems like this - after all judging by the pictures of these drivers they are obviously doing an excellent job already.
