Lawyer says one of our local putschists stiffed him
A Pittsfield lawyer who represented Capitol putsch stroller Mark Sahady of Malden in his initial appearances in federal court is now asking a judge to "disappear" him from the case.
In a motion filed in US District Court in Boston today, Rinaldo Del Gallo III says Sahady, facing charges of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, stopped answering his calls and messages last month.
Despite Mr. Mark Sahady clearly having the economic means to pay me, I have yet to be paid for representing him, having invested many, many hours into his case. I checked my post office box today, at Friday, February 05, 2021, and I have not received a check for work on this case, despite plenty of time for the check to arrive here.
Despite having called his house and his cell phone on seemingly innumerable occasions over many days, several times a day, save for the Friday after the day he was released, he has not returned any of my calls. Nor has Mr. Sahady replied to my e-mails.
On Jan. 22, Sahady had his case transferred from Boston to federal court in Washington, DC., after Del Gallo acknowledged his presence in the Capitol but said he did nothing wrong because he was in a "public" area of the building taking advantage of his First Amendment right to protest an allegedly fraudulent election and that there is no evidence he did anything more serious, like beat police officers, bust into Nancy Pelosi's office or demand the death of then Vice President Mike Pence.
Yesterday, a lawyer in Alexandria, VA, John C. Kiyonaga, filed paperwork in federal court there to take on Sahady's case in Washington court.
Sahady faces his initial Washington appearance on Feb. 11.
Sahady, organizer of a Boston-area group that insists it's not a white-supremacist group and it's not its fault that Nazis keep showing up at its events here, was arrested the same day as one of the group's other organizers, Sue Ianni of Natick - who marched with Sahady into the Capitol after arranging bus rides from Massachusetts to DC.
Her case was also transferred to Washington, but unlike Sahady, she kept her Boston-based attorney. She has yet to have a DC court date set.
Innocent, etc.

Womp womp
Del Gallo certainly beclowned himself in Sahady’s last court appearance and proved himself not up to the task, but it is scummy for Sahady to not communicate with Del Gallo and pay him what he is owed. Learning about both men, it does, however, seem like the two deserve each other.
I do wonder how much Sahady and his Super Happy Fun crew communicated with the Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, Three Percenters, et. al. before the rally and if any of these conspiracy indictments are going to be stacked on to Sahady’s misdemeanors. 11 busses worth of witnesses—how many of those people believed they were going to storm the Capitol before the got on the bus? That’s my burning question.
Sahady and Ianni to prison
Sahady and his criminal pal Sue Ianni should go to prison for 30 years for treason.
She was one of the leaders of this group spreading the lie that there was "an illegal election", which is just an absolute lie that stupid people fell for.
She brought 400 people down there on 11 buses, storming the capital, killing a cop and causing rampant destruction because she hates democracy if her stooge doesn't get elected.
30 years in prison sounds right, maybe cut to 20 years if she gives up some of her treasonous comrades.
Just like Trump
It's been part of Trump's business model for decades to not pay for services when he thinks he can get away with it. Most recently, his last batch of impeachment-defense lawyers, including Rudy Giuliani.
And still, millions of Americans think he's great. There's something wrong with them.
Something doesn't add up
A Bernie Bro representing a "putschist"?

Same guy?
Yes, same guy
He's like Dershowitz - a self proclaimed left-leaning man who only defends rightwingers because of the constitutional issues involved. Del Gallo spoke at one of Sahady's Boston rallies, so they already knew each other.
A bit more on him and Sahady's group
From a UMass MassMedia account of that "straight pride" parade in 2019:
I said it from the first Hillary/Cheeto debate
When he bragged about stiffing his contractors: If you derive income from work, and you vote for him, you're a schmuck.
If you voted for him in 2020, I hope to find a way to enrich myself at your expense. I feel no guilt whatsoever about that. Absolutely none.
I'm just trying to figure out
who keeps making contracts with Trump, or taking him on as a client. If he's stiffed the past 3 lawyers, who do you think he won't stiff you?
Sounds like a great way to not be able to get smart lawyers. But maybe you can still get dumb ones?
“I never thought...
Leopards would eat MY face”
If nothing else
he's clearly got a huge loyal following of people who will go for whatever he endorses. So even if he doesn't pay you, there's probably someone who will.
What
He doesn't "endorse" the people he stiffs. He just ignores them and their bills.
Eh, you get the idea
He says "this guy is great!" and everyone goes out and buys their book or whatever. It's probably actually pretty lucrative if you do the bare minimum for Trump and have something set up on the side to collect money from his followers.
But he doesn't
Not in most cases, and even those, he usually throws under he bus when they stop being useful to him. The vast majority of people who work for him go unmentioned, and a whole lot of them go unpaid. He's excrement as a human being, and how so many either fail to see that, or do see it and approve of it, is a ... sad ... commentary on our society.
My greatest regret
Is that it took me until my 30s to realize just how much money and power one can amass by pretending that they give a (expletive) about the content of the King James Bible.
Ted Cruz is the biggest d-bag in the Senate, but he's the smartest one too.
Representing a jackhole who has the means?
It's good for jackholes like Sahady to have representation. But when the jackhole has the money, don't represent without the client paying in advance.
This ain't hard.
"Capitol putsch stroller"
You are on top of your phrase turning game Adam!
Who pays by check these days
Who pays by check these days anyway?
How do you pay large amounts
How do you pay large amounts to small businesses?
Paying small businesses
There are programs that let you pay businesses electronically. A lot of lawyers use LawPay. The fees hurt, but they're no worse than credit card fees.
