Horse waiting to transport casket from Roslindale funeral dies outside church

Boston Police and Animal Control this morning responded to Sacred Heart Parish on Cummins Highway in Roslindale after a horse waiting to transport somebody on her final ride to a local cemetery collapsed and died. The horse was picked up and removed by Parks and Recreation.

I thought this was going to be one of those stories tied to a historical photograph of Boston, not a current event. Poor horse!

But I'm laughing SO HARD that someone put in a 311 dead animal pickup for this horse (who presumably was with a handler capable of managing the issue).

It has to be an omen of some kind. Did anyone check the corpse? If the decedent was embalmed there was no need to check. Once you embalmed you are definitely dead.
